Overview:

In this ongoing program, you'll have a chance to work one-on-one and in small groups with an instructor to learn or review Geometry, Algebra 1 or 2, and Pre-Calculus. This offering will be good for homeschool students, for students who want to get ahead, and students who want extra instruction for their course during the year. By working one-on-one and in small groups you'll have a chance to learn at a pace perfect for your needs and you will receive practice problems and resources tailored to you. Four expert instructors from the UCI School of Education will be working together to teach this course, and we will be following the California Common Core Curriculum and your current class schedule.

Class Structure:

This is an ongoing class that will meet three times a week and involves the student interacting with the teacher and completing one or two weekly assignments/assessments as well as their weekly homework from class.  Since this is an ongoing class, you are welcome to join at any time and attend for as many weeks as you need. There will be an ongoing update of what will be taught each week.

Think of this program as a combination of college office hours and a discussion section for high school students. In each class, the instructor will introduce the topic, work on some examples, have students work on examples with the instructor, and then have students work on the examples by themselves to ensure understanding.  Hopefully, students will have an opportunity to start the assignment during class time and sometimes complete it during class time.  This will give students an opportunity to ask questions as needed.  We will post notes and assignments as pdf files on the class page as needed.

Location and Registration

This program is held both in person in Irvine 92697 and virtually. After paying for the course for the first week, students will select how they would like to receive their instruction, and the exact location or virtual links will be provided. After the first week, students will be charged weekly for their participation.  Students can choose to drop out anytime that they want.
